TORONTO — On June 12, CULT Food Science Corp. announced an MOU agreement with Polygen Asia Pte Ltd. Through the agreement, Polygen will distribute CULT’s Noochies! pet nutrition products to retailers throughout Singapore.

CULT is a “pioneer” in the investment, development and commercialization of cellular agricultural technologies and food products, as well as pet foods. The company’s Noochies! pet nutrition brand offers complete-and-balanced diets for dogs, as well as supplements and treats for dogs and cats. The products are formulated with Bmmune™, a patent-pending blend of nutritional yeast offering functional benefits, and Bflora™, a probiotic ingredient. The Noochies! brand was previously owned by BioCraft Pet Nutrition, formerly Because Animals.

“We are excited to be working with CULT Food Science Inc., and to be distributing the Noochies brand in Singapore,” said Maurice Yeo, director, Polygen. “At Polygen, we only source from ethical and responsible manufacturers of premium pet products, who procure from sustainable resources, which makes our partnership with CULT the perfect fit.”

The pet nutrition products will be distributed to more than 50 retailers throughout Singapore, joining other brands distributed by Polygen, including HappyBond and The Simple Food Products. The partnership will provide Singapore pet parents and pets with more sustainable food options.

“Factory farming in Asia for livestock and seafood poses enormous environmental and forced labor risks. It's truly an insane system that our pet foods are working against,” said Joshua Errett, vice president of product development at CULT. “Partnering with Polygen is step in the right direction for our company and the sustainable future of Southeast Asia.”

According to CULT, Singapore’s pet food market grew from $78.0 million in 2016 to $91.6 million in 2020. The market is expected to continue to expand and is projected to hit $111.9 million by 2025.

“Singapore has always been a leader in advanced technologies and food production,” said Lejjy Gafour, chief executive officer of CULT. “Being able to provide Noochies! beyond the North American market is a wonderful milestone and I look forward to continuing to work with Polygen far into the future to provide even more nutritious and sustainable pet food options.”

Polygen will begin distributing CULT’s Noochies! brand in the third/fourth quarter of 2023.
