AUSTIN, TEXAS — Premium pet supplement brand PetHonesty recently welcomed Daniel B. Horner as vice president of sales. Horner offers three decades of pet industry experience, specifically with pet consumables.

Horner comes from a 15-year stint at Freshpet, where he helped found the company and most recently served as vice president for its pet channel. Before kicking off Freshpet, he held several roles at The Meow Mix Company and Ralston Purina.

"We are pleased to welcome Dan to PetHonesty and are excited to gain an executive of such caliber," said Ben Arneberg, chief executive officer at PetHonesty, which is owned by Vestar Capital Partners. "He has a proven ability to develop initiatives that lead to revenue growth. Dan's reputation as a team player, combined with his relationships in the pet industry, will prove invaluable as we continue building a leading omnichannel brand in pet supplements."

Horner earned a bachelor’s degree in business communications from DePauw University in Indiana.

"I am delighted to join this thriving company that is dedicated to improving the lives of pets through science-backed, natural products," Horner said. "I look forward to being part of the PetHonesty team as we focus on providing many healthy, joyful years of companionship to pet parents across the country."

Horner is not the only pet industry veteran to recently join PetHonesty. In November 2021, the company announced the appointment of Greg Reinhart, Ph.D., as vice president of research and development. Reinhart formerly served as vice president of research and development at Blue Buffalo for five years before joining PetHonesty.
