AUSTIN, TEXAS — PetHonesty, a premium pet supplement producer owned by Vestar Capital Partners, announced Nov. 11 the appointment of Greg Reinhart, Ph.D., as vice president of research and development.

Reinhart most recently served as senior vice president of research and development for Blue Buffalo, a General Mills brand, for the last five years. Prior to joining the Blue Buffalo team, he spent 17 years with the Iams Company and Procter & Gamble Pet Care, where he held roles in strategic research, communication, and research and development.

Reinhart has contributed to more than 250 scientific publications and 14 patents. He is currently a fellow of the American College of Nutrition, and in 2014 was inducted to the Animal Sciences Hall of Fame at Ohio State for his animal nutrition leadership and human malnutrition research.

Reinhart earned his bachelor’s degree in animal science, a master’s in non-ruminant nutrition, and a doctorate in nutritional biochemistry from The Ohio State University.
