PARK CITY, UTAH — Badlands Ranch, a premium dog food and treat brand founded by Katherine Heigl, announced Feb. 20 partnerships with several key distributors that will bring its products to independent pet retailers across the United States for the first time.

The brand has teamed up with Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, Veterinary Service Inc. (VSI), American Distribution and Manufacturing Company (ADMC), and National Animal Nutrition, Inc. (NAN).

“I am so excited to launch Badlands Ranch in independent pet stores and make our premium products accessible at local pet stores across the country,” Heigl said.

Badlands Ranch offers a number of air-dried products, including its popular Superfood Complete dog diet featuring turmeric, ginger and lion’s mane mushrooms. According to the brand, it has sold more than 3 million units of Superfood Complete. Heigl and Badlands Ranch hope to capitalize on this retail expansion targeting pet owners who seek functional, premium nutrition for their dogs.

In 2022, Heigl launched Badlands Ranch, named after her own ranch in Utah, with a line of slow-cooked, freeze- and air-dried formulas for dogs. The initial launch included the brand’s Superfood Complete diet and Superfood Bites single-ingredient, freeze-dried beef liver treats. In July 2023, the brand introduced its first supplement — Super20 — formulated with functional ingredients to support immunity, skin and coat, digestive health and energy levels in dogs.

Badlands Ranch was also recognized by the 2023 Pet Innovation Awards, an independent platform that recognizes the most innovative companies, products and services within the pet care industry, as Dog Food Functional Diet Product of the Year.
