SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL — Natoo, a US brand of natural pet nutrition products by Brazil-based PremieRpet, has joined the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) as a Champion level member.

The move follows several climate actions from PremieRpet, including its investment in what the company described as “the largest solar power plant in the state of São Paulo” in May. The company also received a Gold certification from the Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program for its biscuit production facility in Brazil in November 2022.

“Sustainable practices have always been and will always be a key part of our DNA, which is why we’re proud to join the Pet Sustainability Coalition,” said Fernando Maluf, vice president of international sales at PremieRpet. “We’re thrilled to be amongst a network of like-minded organizations whose ongoing efforts are leading the way towards a more sustainable pet industry.”

Other sustainable actions taken by PremieRpet and Natoo include the use of reforested eucalyptus trees to create thermal energy for its manufacturing operations, using recaptured rainwater, employing natural lighting in 75% of its working spaces, performing reverse logistics, and managing all residues created through the production of its products, according to the companies.

PSC is a non-profit organization with nearly 200 members across the pet industry. Its goal is to advance sustainability in the industry through collaborative solutions toward social responsibility and environmental impact. The coalition is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
