The pet food company failed to test the vitamin premix it was supplied for safe levels, which caused several of its wet dog foods to contain 33 times the safe upper limit for vitamin D, according to the FDA.
The distributor is recalling 30-count packs of pig ears under Brazilian brand Berkley & Jensen, after recalling 34 lots of Chef Toby pig ear products, also from Brazil, in August.
The North Texas-based company has expanded its recall to includes 805 lots of product for possible Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
