Bene Meat Technologies is seeking to apply its innovative cultured meat technology to the pet nutrition industry.

Nutrition Technologies has become the first Malaysian company with permission to export its animal food ingredients to the European Union and the United Kingdom.

Under a joint venture with Sunner, the company will sell egg-based proteins under its Nutrios pet food brand.

The company’s FeedKind ingredient has been approved by the FDA’s CVM for use in salmon feed.

Emissions Reduction Alberta will provide the company $500,000 to help reduce emissions and advance the circular economy.

Prairie Aquatech will now be known as Houdek as it continues to expand its capabilities in aquaculture, pet food and human health industries.

The facility will produce insect-based proteins and lipids for use in aquaculture and pet food.

In its 2023 Year Ahead report, CoBank detailed that inflation will continue to plague the industry, as well as those that rely on it, like pet food.

Modest worldwide growth is expected as the industry continues to reduce its environmental impact and mitigate disease impacts.

The insect-based protein producer will construct its second facility in the United States and its first in Mexico.
