ST. CHARLES, MO. — Royal Canin North America, a division of Mars Incorporated, has promoted Greg McDaniels from director of national accounts for the company’s veterinary business unit to the role of senior director of national accounts in the pet specialty, retail and omnichannel business unit.

McDaniels joined Royal Canin in 2015. His experience during his career has spanned across both the specialty retail and veterinary space. In his new role, McDaniels will be responsible for leading a team of 10 to help develop customer-centric strategies to differentiate Royal Canin within the marketplace.

“Greg is the perfect fit for this role. His deep experiences across the business have helped him prepare for this new challenge — serving some of our top customers to help feed more cats and dogs across North America,” said Jason Taylor, general manager for Pet Specialty, Retail and Omnichannel, Royal Canin North America. “He is driven by ‘The Five Principles’ and leads with empathy, compassion and charisma. I am confident he will continue focusing on the development of his team while helping achieve business objectives and creating a better world for pets.”

Prior to joining Royal Canin, McDaniels worked for PepsiCo for more than a decade.

“While he did not become a marine biologist or zoologist, as he once thought he would, his desire to serve cats and dogs and be a trusted advisor to our partners has allowed him to grow within Royal Canin North America,” the company said.

Greg received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas. He lives in Phoenix with his wife, Melanie, daughter, Maelyn, and Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, Ozark.
