RICHMOND, VA — On Aug. 29, INDEVCO North America announced Ned M. Bassil has been appointed to chief executive officer. Bassil assumed his new role Sept. 1, following former CEO Pierre Khattar’s transition to the company’s board of directors.
Prior to his new role at INDEVCO, Bassil served as operating partner at Beckway Group, where he oversaw a range of industrial and CPG industry clients. He also served as senior vice president of product management at PrimeSource, chief supply chain officer at BlueLinx, senior advisor at SSA & Company, and several executive positions at Black & Decker and Royal Phillips Electronics.
“Ned has a proven record in optimizing and growing industrial concerns,” Khattar said. “Along with our high-performing executive team, his leadership skills will propel INDEVCO North America to achieve aggressive strategic goals. Ned’s principles will help perpetuate our dedication to employees, local communities, and the environment.”
Bassil has more than 30 years of experience in leadership, manufacturing and distribution, as well as global experience in strategy, finance, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain and product management. At INDEVCO North America, Bassil will support the company’s growth in the flexible packaging, recycling, coating, laminating and building material industries.
“I am honored and thrilled to join the INDEVCO North America team at an exciting time in the company's growth trajectory and look forward to working with our fantastic team and building on the great work that Pierre and the team have already accomplished,” Bassil said. “I'd like to thank Pierre for his leadership and dedication and for bringing the company to where we are today."
Khattar has worked for many of INDEVCO’s companies for 40 years, serving as chief financial officer, senior vice president of finance at Interstate Resources, Inc., which was acquired by INDEVCO’s parent company DS Smith in 2017, and CEO of INDEVCO North America. As CEO, Khattar advanced operations, product innovation, customer experience and incorporated sustainability values into the company’s strategy.
“Pierre’s leadership was instrumental in forming the foundation of INDEVCO North America; his passion to effectively set up the company for our next growth phase was remarkable,” said Bahjat Frem, executive chairman of the board at INDEVCO North America. “On behalf of the board, I thank Pierre for his valuable contributions and loyalty to the group, and I welcome Ned at this pivotal juncture in INDEVCO North America’s growth trajectory.”
