MEATH, IRELAND — Origin Valley Pet Nutrition, an Irish pet treat manufacturer specializing in air-dried formats, recently announced plans to expand its reach across the Atlantic. The company is now actively exploring private label partnerships with brands in the North American market.

“The North American pet food market presents exciting opportunities to build on the growth and success we have had with our partners in the United Kingdom and Europe by supplying premium, bespoke, natural products as a co-manufacturing offering,” said Niall O’Brien, founder of Origin Valley.

Origin Valley’s pet treat kitchens are certified for food safety against Global Food Safety Initiative (GSFI) standards and maintain HACCP, FDA, FEDIAF and GMP practices to support safety and quality. The company offers in-house R&D, manufacturing and packaging support for its customers, serving as a one-stop-shop for air-dried pet treat development.

“Our air-drying process maintains a high level of natural goodness in the finished product,” O’Brien said. “We pride ourselves on our commitment to manufacturing to the highest food standards underpinned by our BRC accreditation since establishment.”

According to Origin Valley, it takes an “artisan approach” to its private label pet treats, which come in various shapes such as clovers, twisted chews, jerky, sausages and more. The company’s capabilities include fresh meat inclusions, plant-based and fresh insect formulations, grain-free recipes, hypoallergenic formulas, single and mixed protein recipes, and the inclusion of natural tocopherol-derived antioxidants.

“Origin Valley Pet Nutrition was born out of a desire to provide clean label pet food solutions using only fresh meat and natural ingredients,” O’Brien added.

Aside from its treats being human-grade, Origin Valley also offers active ingredients to support several common need states including digestion, mobility, calming, skin and coat, immune, cardiovascular, and dental health. Treats are designed for training, healthy snacking, reward and functional treating occasions.

The company is taking steps toward sustainability through the use of environmentally friendly packaging formats, upcycled ingredients, and conservation of water, energy and the countryside in which it operates.

Origin Valley also announced it has partnered with Rudy Leschke, president of R Leschke Consulting Services, Inc., who will provide in-house R&D support to the company’s clients. Leschke has an extensive background in the pet food industry, including tenures with Mars Petcare, Nestlé Purina, Nutro and Ainsworth Pet Nutrition.
