ROCKFORD, ILL. — Phelps Pet Products, a co-manufacturer specializing in jerky dog treats, has “refreshed and reformulated” products appearing under its Private Brands Collection. The collection is designed for early-stage brand owners, independent pet retailers, entrepreneurs and otherwise small businesses looking to tap into the pet treat market.

The Private Brands Collection consists of eight popular Phelps recipes that showcase on-trend formulations through a diverse range of high-quality ingredients. Thanks to recent capital investments, the collection now includes various shaped jerky treats as well.

Recipes available under the Private Brands Collection include those with sustainable ingredients, such as those certified by the Upcycled Food Association, as well as two USDA Certified Organic formulas — Organic Chicken Recipe Waffle Treats and Organic Turkey Recipe Bites. The line also features real-meat recipes fortified with superfoods, including Beef & Berries Recipe Training Treats, Lamb & Flaxseed Recipe Training Treats, and Duck & Sweet Potato Recipe Bites.

The company’s Salmon Jerky offers small businesses an alternate protein option formulated with real salmon at 90%, as well as two plant-based jerky recipes — Plant-Based Berry Flavor Sticks and Plant-Based Chicken Flavor Bites.

All formulas are available in pre-designed packaging and are ready to go to market from a regulatory and nutritional information standpoint. Phelps works with small business partners to create own-brand product packaging for its Private Brands Collection customers.
