CHICAGO — Matrix Partners, a full-service marketing firm solely serving the pet industry, has been recognized for packaging it designed for Fidelis Nutritionals, one of its clients. The firm was the recipient of Graphic Design USA’s (GDUSA) American Package Design Award.
Fidelis is a relatively new brand of the scene, having launched in September 2022. The company offers freeze-dried raw pet food and treats, as well as soft chew supplements, specifically tailored to large dogs. Matrix Partners’ creative team crafted the brand’s packaging to be centered around “hero-like imagery” of big breeds, and also included scenic outdoor graphics in the background to “embrace the brand’s messaging and add dimension,” according to Matrix.
“Package design has become an essential part of the shopping experience,” said Dennis Abelson, senior partner at Matrix Partners. “It provides shoppers with a visual that grabs their attention and entices them to learn more about a specific product. This is not the first time Matrix Partners has been recognized. According to the firm, it has also received top honors from the Hermes Create Awards, Effie Awards and domCOMM Awards. In February, Matrix Partners received a Package Design Award from GDUSA for its work with Montana Dog Food Co., and in August 2021, the firm received an Inhouse Design Awards from GDUSA for its website redesign.
