AUSTIN, TEXAS — On Jan. 23, Nulo announced the appointment of Greg Aldrich, Ph.D., to chief operating officer. Aldrich will help lead the pet food company’s business operations, supply chain management, R&D, product development, food safety and quality control.

According to Nulo, Aldrich is an industry veteran and pet nutrition expert.

“Greg is an exceptional leader and visionary in the pet industry and brings decades of relevant experience working with brands, retailers and academia — including 14 years consulting with Nulo as we built and scaled the business,” said Michael Landa, Nulo’s founder and chief executive officer. “As COO, Greg will work closely with me to drive operational performance, accelerate the execution of our strategic roadmap and help secure our position as the industry’s leading innovator of premium dog and cat foods.”

Since 1995, Aldrich has served the pet food and treat industry, supporting more than 200 companies and helping develop thousands of pet nutrition products through his consulting business. He has worked as professor at Kansas State University, establishing its pet food program, teaching and mentoring students, and researching processing and nutritional efficacy of pet food ingredients.

“I’ve had the good fortune to be in a front-row seat as Nulo started and grew into a prominent brand in the pet food industry,” Aldrich said. “Michael has a sixth sense about the market and a mastery for product positioning. I look forward to continuing my relationship as a full-fledged team member and to helping Nulo implement new ideas and incredible products for our deserving pets.”
