AUSTIN, TEXAS — Pet Honesty® launched its new natural pet health supplement for puppies — Multivitamin Puppy — on Jan. 3. Formulated with functional ingredients, the supplement seeks to support rapid growth in puppies.

To develop the Multivitamin Puppy supplement, Pet Honesty sought to understand the needs of puppies and puppy owners. According to the company, dog parents take a proactive approach when it comes to puppy health and development, specifically seeking nutrition to support healthy growth and development, similarly to how parents would seek out products of their own child. With this in mind, supporting brain health became key for the development of the new supplement.

The soft chew supplement is formulated with a high level of DHA sourced from marine algae to promote cognitive brain development. According to Pet Honesty, it is a challenge for puppies to receive optimal levels of DHA from their diets alone.

“DHA is popularly known for its scientifically proven role in supporting babies' and toddlers' cognitive brain development for positive early learning and memory outcomes,” said Greg Reinhart, Ph.D., vice president of research and development at Pet Honesty. “A similar benefit is shown for a puppy's brain function and trainability within a couple of veterinary scientific studies involving high DHA levels.”

"Our new puppy multivitamin offers a high level of 40 mg of DHA that acts as an insurance policy to achieve a safe optimal level of DHA when coupled with nutritional puppy foods that deliver moderate levels of DHA, and ultimately aides in a puppy's brain health development and trainability,” he added.

Modeled after Pet Honesty’s Multivitamin 10-in-1 for dogs, the Multivitamin Puppy supplement is also formulated with Beta-Carotene, probiotics, Omega 3s and antioxidants to support immune, brain, eye, gut, joint and skin health. The supplement contains no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors and is also wheat-, corn- and soy-free. Pet Honesty recommends consumers feed puppies, aged four to 12 months, one soft chew per 10 lbs.
