VAUGHAN, ONTARIO — Eye health company Bausch + Lomb Corporation announced its entrance into the pet health and nutrition industries with its new line: Project Watson. The line offers health care products to dogs within the United States, including eye supplements.

“For nearly two centuries, Bausch + Lomb has been associated with many of the most significant advances in eye health,” said Joe Gordon, president of global consumer at Bausch + Lomb’s Surgical and Vision Care division. “Building on our eye care expertise and history in surgical solutions for veterinarians, we created Project Watson to help address the unmet health care needs of dogs.

“Developed in collaboration with veterinarians, Project Watson focuses on dogs' eyes and ears — important areas that are often overlooked in the health of our beloved four-legged family members,” he added. “Project Watson products will begin rolling out online in certain retailers beginning next month.”

The Project Watson line includes two supplements — Eye Supplement for Dogs + Tear Stain Support, and Eye + Multi-health Supplement — among other eye and ear health products for dogs.

The Eye Supplements for Dogs + Tear Stain Support is a daily chewable supplement formulated with lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin A, Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, and other natural herbs to promote overall eye health and help manage tear stains that occur due to irritation.

The Eye + Multi-health Supplement is a daily chewable supplement formulated with lutein, zeaxanthin, glucosamine, chondroitin, vitamin E and A, zinc, Omega 3 and coenzyme Q10 to support eye, joint, heart and immune health in dogs.

“Grooming care for dogs often includes nail trims and haircuts, but regular eye and ear maintenance is also necessary,” said Danielle Rutherford, VMD, of Westside Veterinary Center. “Without regular eye and ear cleaning, there is the potential for skin irritation and infections among other issues. I look forward to having access to this new dedicated line of products for dogs and their pet owners.”

The supplements, as well as the entire Project Watson line, are manufactured and packaged in recyclable packaging within FDA-certified facilities and formulated with ingredients from the United States and other countries.

Beginning in November 2022, the new supplements will be available online at Amazon, Chewy, PetSmart and Walmart.
