CHICAGO — Human spice company, North American Herb & Spice, has entered the pet nutrition space with the launch of a new pet brand on July 11. The new brand, Houdi’s Foodies, will offer premium, natural pet treats and supplements.

"Houdi's Foodies is named after Houdini, my toy bobcat and the chief pet officer [of the company]," said Judy Kay Gray, chief executive officer and founder of North American Herb & Spice. "Houdi's Foodies treats were designed because our North American Herb & Spice consumers were searching for healthy pet snacks that they could trust to give to that special member of their family. So, I began formulating snacks for cats and dogs to support hip and joint function, vitamin nourishment and immune wellness."

Houdi’s Foodies functional supplements are formulated using human-grade ingredients, like the ingredients used by North American Herb & Spice. The brand’s current supplements include three formulas for dogs — Hip & Joint SmartSupps®, Wellness Immune SmartSupps® and Vitamin SmartSupps® — and one formula for cats — Feline Wellness & Immune SmartSupps®.

The Hip & Joint supplements are formulated with beef collagen, Omega 3 fatty acids, turmeric and Ceylon ginger to address inflammation. The Vitamin supplements are formulated with Alaskan sockeye salmon, vitamins A, D and C, Peruvian camu camu berries and grass-fed beef liver.

The Feline Wellness & Immune supplements help support a cat’s overall wellness and immune system and are formulated with grass-fed beef liver, wild-caught Alaskan sockeye salmon, egg yolk powder and vitamin B.

The products can be served as a treat or standard supplement.

Committed to supporting animal welfare, a portion of each Houdi’s Foodies purchase will be donated to a variety of animal welfare organizations, including the Anti-Cruelty Society, the National Tiger Sanctuary, The Humane Society, ASPCA, Alley Cat Allies, K9s for Warriors and more.

North American Herb & Spice also announced plans to introduce more pet nutrition formulas in the future.
