JANESVILLE, WIS. — MacFarlane Pheasants, a family-owned and operated pheasant farm based in Wisconsin, has entered the pet nutrition market with its new brand, Pure Pheasant. The brand has launched a website and product line featuring locally raised, all-natural raw prey pet food and freeze-dried pet treats.
MacFarlane’s history of providing high-quality pheasant ingredients to consumers, restaurants and resorts led it to a new opportunity in pet products. This venture into a new market will help the company decrease its food waste and add value back into its high-quality pheasant byproducts.
“We’ve had customers reaching out to let us know that their pets have more energy and even seem happier since having our products,” said Bill MacFarlane, owner of MacFarlane Pheasants. “Pure Pheasant does not cut corners with preservatives or fillers, providing pet owners with a brand they know they can trust.”
Pheasants used in Pure Pheasant diets and treats are raised in free-roaming pens and barns on MacFarlane’s farm in Southern Wisconsin. They are raised without the use of antibiotics or hormones.
Pure Pheasant offers frozen raw pheasant protein diets and freeze-dried treats including pheasant necks, hearts and livers, breasts, feet, eggs and heads.
Pure Pheasant’s new website features an e-commerce platform where consumers can purchase the pet food and treat products direct-to-consumer across the United States. The website also connects consumers to local brick-and-mortar locations that will sell Pure Pheasant products.
