LITTLETON, Colo. — Pet Releaf, a hemp and cannabidiol (CBD) pet product manufacturer, reported on Oct. 24 it has achieved US Hemp Authority (USHA) Certification and is the first pet-exclusive CBD company to do so. USHA is a prestigious benchmark for standards, best practices, quality and safety and self-regulation for the US hemp industry.

“As a leader shaping the hemp industry, we have made it our mission to help set the bar on industry standards for safety and quality, particularly as they relate to the overall health of pets,” said Steve Smith, co-founder and president of Pet Releaf.

The pet CBD company went through a rigorous third-party auditing process from top-to-bottom, including the safety, traceability, transparency and legality of practices from hemp farmers and manufacturing to distribution and point-of-purchase.

“The intense, hemp-specific audits required to achieve US Hemp Authority Certification are far superior to general supplement certifications because they are overseen by the most knowledgeable hemp experts on the planet. Pet Releaf is honored to be awarded the USHA seal and we strongly encourage pet parents everywhere to demand the USHA Certification on any CBD product they give to their companions,” Smith added.

The audits were overseen by Where Food Comes From, Inc., a certification and verification service provider for food industry companies.

Additionally, Pet Releaf said it is the only pet-exclusive CBD business to sit on the board of directors of the US Hemp Roundtable, which worked with the Hemp Industries Association to create the USHA Certification program.
