NEW YORK — Retailer-owned pet food brand Grandma Mae’s Country Naturals announced August 2 it has expanded its grain-inclusive dog food line and introduced new packaging. The brand added two formulas featuring popular rotational proteins to the mix: Salmon & Whitefish Meal and Duck Meal with Sweet Potato.

The new matte packaging is part of its Susta-Pak program, which aims to replace previous packages with sustainable packaging across all Grandma Mae’s products. The package designs are similar to the brand’s packaging for its grain-free formulas.

Grandma Mae’s grain-inclusive dog foods are formulated to prevent taurine diminution, according to the brand. They include ingredients that are high in taurine, slow-cooking them at a low temperature, and include at least 70% of protein in each recipe from meat sources.

Grandma Mae’s was launched in 2008 and is owned today by NexPet Retailer Co-op in tandem with 32 independent pet retailers.
