BURLINGTON, MASS. — Wellness Pet Company announced April 10 the addition of two new senior leaders to support continued growth for the pet nutrition company. Jessica Gorbet has been named vice president of legal, and Mark House joins the company as vice president of information technology (IT).

According to Wellness Pet, both Gorbet and House bring a wealth of experience in global operations, strategic planning, risk management and legal counsel.

“To deliver on our continued promise of premium nutrition for cats and dogs, we recognize the role legal and information technology-focused perspectives must play on our senior leadership team,” said Reed Howlett, chief executive officer of Wellness Pet Company. “Wellness Pet is excited to welcome Jessica and Mark, whose backgrounds will further ensure we are operationally poised for continued product innovation and strategic growth.”

Gorbet’s law career has been focused on contract negotiation, risk management, and legal advice for corporate governance. She most recently served as vice president, assistant general counsel, procurement and global products for Keurig Dr. Pepper since 2014. Prior to joining Keurig, she was a senior associate at Wilmer Hale LLP, where she provided legal counsel to public and private corporate clients in the areas of capital financing, M&A and corporate governance.

In her new role with Wellness Pet, Gorbet will collaborate with the company’s global leadership and external counsel to advance its strategic initiatives. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Colby College, followed by a law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.

“I am eager to share my expertise as a member of the Wellness Pet team as we work together to advance the company by maintaining only the highest legal standards, as well as overseeing intellectual property, corporate transactions and management counseling across our business lines,” Gorbet said. “It is important to me as a dog parent to support Wellness Pet’s commitment to creating the healthiest natural and nutritious pet food and treats for the pets that rely on us.”

House brings more than 25 years of experience across strategic planning, operational leadership, compliance, data management and cybersecurity to his new role at Wellness Pet. He most recently served as vice president of IT, security and digital operations at ENGIE Impact, a global advisory firm with a focus on sustainability. Earlier in his career, he held senior IT positions with Crane Currency and Cubist Pharmaceuticals, among others.

At Wellness Pet, House will lead the company’s IT and business systems efforts. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Colby College, followed by a master’s related to operations management from Boston College.

“As someone who has always had a love for animals, I am delighted to be a part of Wellness Pet, working to help develop and maintain the company’s IT strategic plan and multi-year roadmap of goals,” House commented. “I am eager to apply my technical expertise to such an innovative company, helping evolve Wellness Pet’s tech stack and address the business’ current and future technology needs.”
