FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. — Life Extension unveiled its new Life Extension® DOG line of dog supplements on Oct. 11. The line includes four formulas to support various areas of health and wellness in dogs of all breeds and sizes.

In developing the new DOG line, Life Extension conducted a consumer survey on pet ownership, which surveyed 1,422 pet parents. According to the survey, respondents claim to treat their dog as a treasured member of the family with 65% sharing their beds with their dogs and 71% giving them gifts. Additionally, 80% of those surveyed said they provide their dogs with nutritional supplements to promote health and wellness.

With a goal to help these pet parents support their pets’ health, Life Extension launched four new dog supplements.

“We understand the love and joy dogs bring into people’s homes, so we wanted to give ‘dog parents’ a way to support their dog’s health with high-quality products,” said Andrew Swick, M.S., Ph.D., chief scientific officer at Life Extension. “A large body of research shows that owning a dog can improve cardiovascular and cognitive health and stress management — so why not do everything you can to ensure your dog lives a long, healthy life?”

The new Life Extension DOG line includes four varieties of soft chews:

  • Multivitamin & Probiotics, formulated with vitamins A, C, D, E and B, and colostrum from cow’s milk to support immune health
  • Hip & Joints, formulated with a glucosamine complex, as well as PEA and MSM, to support mobility and comfort
  • Stress & Behavior, formulated with L-theanine and melatonin to promote calmness
  • Skin & Coat, formulated with Omega 3 fatty acids sourced from fish oil to support healthy skin and coat

Each supplement is available in a “pet-approved” flavor, including salmon, beef, chicken and bacon. They contain no artificial colors or flavors and are manufactured in the United States. The DOG supplement line expands Life Extension’s assortment of more than 400 vitamins and supplements and are available via the company’s e-commerce site.
