LONDON — Butternut Box, a direct-to-consumer fresh dog food company based in the United Kingdom and distributing throughout Europe, recently launched two new dehydrated dog treat products to complement its existing Naturally Tasty portfolio.
The new treats, Turkey Tenders and Chicken Tenders, feature 58 calories per treat, 90% animal meat ingredients, and berries. The company’s Naturally Tasty portfolio already includes air-dried fish, lamb and duck dog treats.
“Our new tenders are made using freshly prepared meat and berries and using natural human-quality ingredients,” said Charlotte McCormack, head of product development at Butternut Box. “They’re gently air-dried to keep them chewy which means that they’re great for keeping dogs occupied for a short while or for an extra special treat.”
In August, the company raised £40 million (roughly $55 million USD) in a funding round led by European private equity firm L Catterton.
“The early feedback from customers (dogs and humans) has been so positive and this launch will be the first of many new product innovations we’ve been working on,” said Kevin Glynn, co-founder of Butternut Box. “Q4 in particular is going to be an exciting one for us at Butternut as we have a further two new product releases to come.”
