NEW YORK — Grandma Mae’s Country Naturals launched a new line of air-dried dog food, RawTernative®, on Feb. 9. Each diet contains at least 90% animal meat from pasture-raised beef, grass-fed lamb or cage-free chicken proteins.

RawTernative diets are manufactured in New Zealand with ethically sourced ingredients, Grandma Mae’s shared. They are air-dried, semi-moist and shelf-stable, and can be fed as a complete meal or as a meal topper.

The formulas include New Zealand Green Mussels, glucosamine and chondroitin to offer functional health benefits.

RawTernative products will be shipped to and stored at Grandma Mae’s 30,000-square-foot warehouse in Central New York, and the diets will be sold exclusively through independent pet retailers.

Grandma Mae’s is owned by NexPet, a co-operative including 32 independent retailers located across the United States.
