TEWKSBURY, MASS.  — Wellness Natural Pet Food launched two product innovations Feb. 25 in preparation for Global Pet Expo, throwing a fish-based dog food into its CORE RawRev line and adding variety packs to its wet cat food portfolio.

The company’s new CORE RawRev Ocean formulas for dogs is the first poultry-free dog food in the line, including whitefish and wholesome grains. The two new formulas include a kibble option as well as a kibble with freeze-dried raw fish meat inclusions.

"The new protein and grain choices in the Wellness CORE family empower pet parents to diversify what goes in their pet's bowl without totally disrupting a diet they trust for their dogs,” said Chanda Leary-Coutu, director of marketing communications and consumer experience at Wellness.

Both products are formulated with highly digestible grains, such as oatmeal, barley and quinoa. Other ingredients provide taurine, fiber and essential vitamins to support complete-and-balanced nutrition.

The two new dog diets are free from artificial ingredients.

On the cat side, Wellness has added variety packs to the mix. The multipacks feature the company’s best-selling Complete Health formulas.

The variety packs will be available in three different assortments: Chicken & Turkey Pâté Favorites, which includes Chicken Entrée, Turkey Dinner and Turkey & Salmon Entrée; Seafood Pâté Favorites, featuring Chicken & Lobster Dinner, Chicken & Herring Dinner and Turkey & Salmon Entrée; and Chicken & Turkey Lovers, which includes Gravies Chicken Entrée, Minced Chicken Dinner and Minced Turkey Entrée.

These diets will be offered in packs of 12 and 24, with three different formulas included in each box. The individual cat foods will be packaged in 3-oz cans.

According to the company, any unwanted and unopened cat food products within the variety packs can be returned for a full refund with a receipt of purchase.

In addition, Wellness is bringing back its Complete Health with Wholesome Grains recipes for cats to accompany its grain-free options. These dry cat food products will be sold individually in 6-lb bags: Adult Salmon & Salmon Meal; Adult Health Deboned Chicken & Chicken Meal; Indoor Deboned Chicken & Chicken Meal; and Natural Hairball Control Chicken Meal.

"There are valued nutritional benefits in both grained and grain-free food for cats, and now we are offering both options for those pet parents looking to feed our trusted Complete Health formula," Leary-Coutu said.
