HOUSTON and LINCOLN, NEB. — Fresh food franchise Pet Wants announced Oct. 31 it has inked new agreements for stores in the Houston Metro area and Nebraska.

Eduardo and Josue Ventura will operate the two Houston stores in Siena and West Pearland, Texas, and Troy and Jennifer Post will run the new storefront in Lincoln.

The Venturas are a father-son duo with previous experience in the franchise arena. Eduardo started as a franchisee for Domino’s before moving to manage his own store and becoming district manager for multiple locations. According to Pet Wants, he hopes to recreate the experience with his son, Josue.

The Posts also bring previous franchise ownership to the table from Papa Johns. As self-proclaimed dog lovers, the pair observed a noticeable difference in their own dogs’ food intake after switching to Pet Wants’ diets.

“That's when I knew this brand was different and my interest in franchising with them grew exponentially,” Troy said.

DeNita Carani, brand president at Pet Wants, welcomed both new franchisees by saying, “Their passion for pet nutrition and commitment to the community make them the perfect fit for our growing franchise network.”

According to Carani, the new store signings will support Pet Wants’ mission to provide a convenient and reliable source of premium, fresh and high-quality pet food to pet owners in Houston and Lincoln.

"We will continue to target markets where we need additional distribution or new locations where we would like to introduce our products or services,” Carani said. “We are very proud of our recent momentum as we continue to prioritize our franchisees' success so we can be sure to grow the right way."

So far in 2023, Pet Wants has signed franchise agreements for Matthews, NC., and Rockport, Texas, Mount Vernon, Wash., and Cleveland, Tenn. The company established 20 new franchise units in 2022.
