NEW YORK — Super premium pet food brand Optimeal has formed a distribution partnership with Generation Pet. Through the partnership, Generation Pet will distribute Optimeal’s dog and cat food products to independent pet retailers throughout the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States.

Optimeal is a Ukrainian pet nutrition brand produced by Kormotech, a family-owned business located in Lviv, Ukraine. The company specializes in high-quality, ethical and environmentally friendly pet food products, offering private label products available in 40 countries throughout the world. Since its founding in 2003, Kormotech has experienced significant growth, and has even expanded its operations despite Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to help support people and pets within the country and worldwide.

Optimeal originally made its debut in the US market in 2001, offering a range of natural wet and dry dog and cat foods. The brand’s formulas are made using high-quality ingredients that provide pets with functional health benefits. The formulas are also developed by scientists and approved by veterinarians, according to Optimeal. All formulas are free from GMOs, corn, wheat, soy, artificial colors and preservatives, and chicken and poultry byproduct meals.

According to Optimeal, Generation Pet is well-known for its commitment to the independent retail channel. The distributor specializes in providing retailers unique and all-natural pet products. Generation Pet currently operates two warehouses located outside Baltimore, Md., and Bloomfield, Conn., servicing retailers throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

According to Optimeal and Kormotech, the partnership furthers its commitment to supporting independent retailers and providing US pet parents with a variety of high-quality pet food options.

“We are aligned with Generation Pet in recognizing that nutrition is the foundation of our pets’ health,” said Yuliana Vovk, new business development director of North America at Kormotech. “This partnership brings together two businesses dedicated to offering the finest products to independent retailers. As a Ukrainian pet food company, we embrace the challenges and remain steadfast in providing super-premium, natural nutrition for cats and dogs in the US market."
