SARASOTA, FLA. — Vertically integrated, muti-channel pet product company, Encompass Pet Group, has appointed a new chief marketing officer. Ted Gilvar will lead the company’s marketing initiatives throughout all its brands, which includes distributor Choice Pet Products.

Gilvar has extensive experience in marketing for many high-growth companies and consumer brands including Target, the National Football League, Reebok and Dunkin’ Donuts. Gilvar previously served as chief marketing officer at Vongae where he drove sales growth, improved profitability and increased the company’s stock price; and also served as chief marketing officer at Monster.com where he created a global digital center and oversaw award-winning advertising, promotions and social campaigns.

Prior to joining Encompass, Gilvar served as founder and chief executive officer for a growth advisory group, supporting startups in the health tech, social media and hospitality spaces.

“Given our unique integrated portfolio strategy, we’re thrilled to have someone with Ted’s unique background across both consumer products and B2B marketing,” said Rob Emery, chief executive officer of Encompass Pet Group. “As we continue to drive scale across our portfolio of brands, Ted’s experience across digital transformation, brand building and growth marketing will be instrumental to helping us drive growth.”

Alongside his extensive experience, Gilvar has also received recognition for his work. He was named CMO of the Year by Boston Business Journal, appeared on Crain’s Top 25 B2B Marketer list, and won advertising awards from Cannes Lions and Clios.

“I was instantly connected to the opportunity at Encompass Pet Group,” Gilvar said. “The combination of their portfolio strategy, their commitment to innovation and their strong culture makes them a force to be reckoned with in the high-growth pet industry.”
