CHARLOTTETOWN, CANADA — Natural Products Canada, an organization supporting the Canadian market for sustainable, natural products, is hosting a Natural Pet Products Virtual Pitch Event for early-stage, Canadian pet food, treat and product companies producing all-natural products for companion animals. The pitch event will be held online Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. EST.

The organization will provide a targeted audience of industry experts, investors and strategic partners for entrepreneurs to virtually pitch their ideas and receive feedback. Although Natural Products Canada was not able to share specific names of participating startups, it did share descriptions of the products being featured.

Participants include: a company producing ethically and environmentally sustainable pet food using lab-cultured meat protein; a company producing hypoallergenic food and treats using sustainable protein sources; a company offering species-specific probiotics to pet food, treat and supplement manufacturers; and a company incorporating humanely raised meats and organic vegetables in its pet food and treat formulations, which are free from grains and fillers.

These startups will have received pitch materials in advance of their presentation. During the event, each company will be allowed 10 minutes to present their pitch, followed by a 5-minute question-and-answer session from the audience. The event is expected to last roughly 70 minutes.

David Gauthier, Ph.D., vice president of investments for Natural Products Canada, will lead the event alongside other members of the organization. Gauthier and other Natural Products Canada team members will review and work with participating companies to fine-tune their pitch presentations. Most participating companies have benefitted from Natural Products Canada’s advisory services, commercialization programs, or other services before this event.

The virtual event is free, but attendance is restricted to large corporations and investors interested in supporting the early-stage companies pitching their ideas.

Interested investors are invited to register for the event and learn more about it on Natural Products Canada’s website.
