WASHINGTON D.C. and SAN DIEGO, CALIF. — On May 20, Natural Balance Pet Foods, Inc. issued a voluntary recall of one lot of dry cat food.
According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), one lot of the company’s L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Green Pea & Chicken Formula tested positive for Salmonella during a routine surveillance sample conducted by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
The single lot was packaged in 5-lb and 10-lb bags and distributed throughout the United States online and through brick-and-mortar stores. Natural Balance reported no other products are affected by the recall, and no illnesses linked to the recall have been reported.
