AUSTIN, Texas — ePac Flexible Packaging, a digital printing business for consumer-packaged goods (CPG) products, announced Oct. 8 it will open its newest manufacturing plant in St. Paul, Minnesota. The facility is expected to begin operations in January 2020.

“We’re excited to announce our new location and opening date,'' said Scott May, managing partner of ePac Minneapolis. "We’ve already had a great response from the community and we look forward to serving local food manufacturing companies with our unique service delivery model and sustainable packaging solutions.”

The flexible packaging printing company utilizes Hewlett Packard (HP) Indigo 20000 digital printers to fulfill local and regional client orders in all sizes. The company produces packaging for pet food products, confections and snacks, natural and organic foods, nutritional supplements, and others.

ePac is a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, so its facilities and materials are environmentally conscious. For example, the new St. Paul facility will be LEED certified, its digital printing platform minimizes energy use and has a smaller carbon footprint than conventional printing technology, and the company offers recyclable, compostable and post-consumer recycled films.

In February 2019, the company announced its goal to build seven new facilities in the US to bring its grand total to 15 manufacturing plants by the end of 2019. The construction of these new facilities was funded in part by several investment firms.

ePac currently operates facilities in Madison, Wisconsin; Boulder, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; and Miami, Florida. Additional plants are currently being constructed in Atlanta, Georgia; Boston, Massachusetts; Los Angeles, California; and Austin, Texas.
