SHELDON, Iowa — Rome Grinding Solutions added a third-generation family member to its leadership staff on July 22. Kelly Newgard will join the company as vice president of operations, where she will oversee purchasing, accounting, human resources and day-to-day operations.

Newgard succeeds Craig Jongerius, previous VP of operations, who was promoted to the newly created role of VP of production.

Previously, Newgard served as the office manager at a municipal water company. She has worked in financial planning and insurance roles since 2006.

“Kelley’s transition into operations is a natural step to support and spur the growth of Rome Grinding Solutions,” said President Kate Rome. “Kelley has sharpened her knowledge about our business and the industries that we serve in her current role as Board Corporate Secretary.”

Newgard also joined Rome’s board of directors in 2016.

Rome has made several personnel changes lately, including the addition of a Human Resources Director Kitty Campbell, Purchasing Director Krysten Haan, and several support staff members.
