EVANSVILLE, IND. — Midwestern Pet Foods’ (MPF) Earthborn Holistic Pet Food brand shared the results of its fifth annual Earth Day campaign. For this year’s campaign, the company helped facilitate the planting of about 25,000 trees.

Earthborn Holistic ambassadors created Earth-focused social media posts and for each comment made within 24 hours, the brand planted a tree through its UPCs for Trees program. The program partners Earthborn Holistic with Trees for the Future to help plant trees in deforested areas around the globe. Customers collect UPCs from empty Earthborn Holistic pet products and return them to designated collection sites. For each UPC collected, one tree is planted.

“Since 2009, we’ve planted over 1 million trees through our program and helped put over 3,500 people on the pathway out of hunger and poverty,” said Brandi Kramer, marketing coordinator of MPF.

“We are so grateful for this amazing community of ambassadors who share our same passion for the environment,” added Diane Nicholas, digital marketing director of MPF. “They get just as excited as we do and always come up with unique and creative ways to engage with their audience to make this annual campaign a success.”
