DARMSTADT, GERMANY — Schenck Process, a global provider of sustainable products, integrated solutions and services for bulk materials, announced a rebrand, effective May 13. With an increased focus on material circularity to advance sustainability, the company will be known as Qlar and will expand its offerings to include digitally enabled and sustainable solutions.

The new Qlar name is inspired by Schenck Process’s aspiration of “the future is cirQlar.” Through the rebrand, Schenck will continue to serve its existing markets, which include chemicals, high-performance materials, cement, steel, infrastructure, transport and energy. The Schenck Process brand and its current portfolio will become a product brand under Qlar and will focus on innovative solutions to further green, circular economies.

“With the rebranding to Qlar, we at Schenck Process are opening a new chapter for a circular future,” said Jörg Ulrich, Ph.D., chief executive officer of Schenck Process. “With the new branding, we are linking ourselves to the circular economy, and focusing our attention even more on future challenges in digitalization and green transformation.”

According to the company, the rebranding will help strengthen its established products, as well as provide it with an enhanced focus on precise, sustainable technologies and digital solutions. Currently, Schenck has more than 1,100 employees throughout Europe, Chine, India, Japan, Indonesia and the United Kingdom.

The rebrand will not apply to Schenck Process Food and Performance Materials (FPM) in the United States, which is owned by Coperion.

“Schenck Process, with its clear focus on material transformation, is already on a highly promising journey to shape a sustainable future by driving smarter material processing in the circular economy,” Ulrich said. “We are contributing to the ‘zero waste’ goal of our global customers and effectively supporting them in reducing their carbon footprint, and our rebrand to Qlar reinforces our commitment to the goal of sustainable transformation.

“We are emphasizing that we will be a driving factor in emerging sectors such as batteries, green steel, green cement and recycling in the future,” he added. “With our new branding we feel even more energized to serve all our customers in existing as well as new green and circular applications with well-known Schenck Process and Qlar solutions.”
