ARLINGTON, VA. — As usual, the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) will be busy in 2024 with a full agenda of in-person conferences, online courses and other programs benefitting animal feed and pet food industry professionals.

“As we look at the 2024 calendar, it promises to be an amazing year for AFIA events,” said Jessica Morse, director of meetings and events at the AFIA. “Like always, our events will offer top-notch networking opportunities, insights from industry leaders, and educational resources that will empower animal food industry employees’ professional growth.”

To kick off the year, the AFIA will host and support several events at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), held from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1. in Atlanta. These events include:

  • Jan. 30 to Feb. 1: International Feed Expo
  • Jan. 30: Pet Food Conference
  • Jan. 31: AFIA Feed Education Program
  • Jan. 31: Feed Your ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance): How Feed Will Help Hit Sustainability Targets
  • Jan. 31: USDA APHIS a Dialogue and Digest

Other events put on by the AFIA in 2024 include:

  • March 12 to 14: Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference in San Antonio
  • June 4 to 6: FSMA PCQI Training in Nashville, Tenn.
  • June 17 to 20: Feed Industry Institute in Minneapolis
  • Sept. 10 to 12: Liquid Feed Symposium in Salt Lake City
  • Nov. 6 to 8: Equipment Manufacturers Conference in Bonita Springs, Fla.

Registration for several of the events above is already open, according to the AFIA. Additionally, early-bird registration for IPPE, as well as the Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference, will close on Friday, Jan. 12. In addition to its regular event lineup, the AFIA has partnered with Kansas State University (KSU) to offer a five-week educational course several times throughout 2024. The course, “AFIA-KSU 500: Fundamentals of Feed Manufacturing,” will be held:

  • Feb. 6 to March 12
  • April 11 to May 14
  • June 4 to July 9
  • Aug. 6 to Sept. 10
  • Oct. 10 to Nov. 5
