SKANDERBORG, DENMARK — Process Integration (PI), a supplier of processing solutions to the pet food, aqua feed and other markets, appointed Niels Malling Laursen to chief executive officer. Malling Laursen will support PI’s significant growth.

Founded in 2015 by Sti Løvgreen and Lars Johansen, PI specializes in building, maintaining and optimizing processing facilities. The company utilizes a holistic approach to processors with their operations, providing plant and process design, project management, process engineering, equipment supply and installation, and other services.

According to PI, it has recently experienced explosive growth, moving into other industries. The company originally focused on aqua feed and pet food but has since moved into the sustainable protein and liquid food and beverage industries.

“Throughout our journey over the past 8 years, it has been crucial for Sti and me that we have grown at a pace that the organization can keep up with,” Johansen said. “We have listened to our customers and have consistently focused on providing the service they need. Initially, it was primarily fish feed and pet food factories that we serviced, but today we have just as many projects in food production and other industries, and the scale of the projects we receive is often larger than before. The demand for our in-house capabilities has led us to establish a robust engineering department.”

To support this growth, as well as its plans for international expansion, the company has enhanced its leadership team.

Malling Laursen has several years of experience in the dairy and meat processing industries, serving as an independent consultant, as well as a director of various food companies. During the past year, he has been associated with PI.

“Of course, it required some consideration to accept the CEO role while retaining the position as head of the project department,” Malling Laursen said. “However, I possess a deep understanding of the company, and with such a strong and positive team, I am genuinely thrilled to contribute to taking the company to the next level.”

In addition to Malling Laursen’s appointment, PI has also named Kurt Myhlert Olsen as head of administration, human resources and finance. Myhlert Olsen has experience in financial management and administration from the diary processing industry, as well as experience in project management. He previously served as an independent consultant in financial advisory.

“We are very focused on knowing what solutions are available on the market and how they can be best implemented to maximize all value streams, ensuring customers get the optimal benefit, whether they need to replace a single part or optimize energy,” Løvgreen said. “We are now so well equipped that we can build complete process lines.

“It is a great asset for us to have Niels as CEO; he has extensive knowledge of process facilities and project management,” he added. “Kurt also brings significant experience and has been a valuable addition to the group, as we understand the importance of taking good care of our employees and running a healthy company.”
