IRVING, TEXAS — Darling Ingredients announced personnel changes to its board on Jan. 26. The company has elected Larry A. Barden to its board as independent director and announced that board member Mary Korby will retire.

Prior to joining Darling Ingredients, Barden served as chairman of the Management Committee of Sidley Austin LLP, an international law firm. He has experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, strategy, and governance. He serves on many boards for civic and educational organizations.

Barden’s appointment expands Darling Ingredients’ board to 11 personnel. He will serve on the board’s Environmental, Social and Governance Committee.

“I want to extend a warm welcome to Larry as he joins our board of directors,” said Randall C. Stuewe, chairman and chief executive officer, Darling Ingredients. “We are fortunate to have his deep breadth of executive management and legal expertise at the board level, as we continue to execute our global growth strategy.”

Korby will retire effective at Darling Ingredients’ 2023 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. She originally joined the company’s board in 2014, following an extensive career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and K&L Gates LLP.

“On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank Mary for her many years of dedicated service,” Stuewe said. “Mary's significant and meaningful contributions to Darling Ingredients have helped transform our company. Her extensive knowledge and experience in international law helped grow our business and expand our global footprint. We wish Mary all the best in retirement.”
