WARSAW, POLAND – GXO Logistics, Inc., a world-wide contract logistics provider, announced a multi-year contract with Zooplus on Jan. 13. The contract includes the design, implementation and management of a new automated fulfillment center in Bor, Czech Republic, helping Zooplus meet increasing demand in Europe.
“Since 2018, we’ve partnered with Zooplus to delight customers through technologically advanced warehouse operations that put people and the environment first,” said Jean Luc Bessade, managing director for Central and Eastern Europe, GXO. “Together with Zooplus, we’re looking forward to delivering the highest quality service for their customers across Europe.”
GXO estimates its operations for Zooplus will start in the third quarter of 2022 with a new 60,000-square-meter (645,834-square-foot) distribution center and team of 700 employees. According to GXO, the facility will use an automated packing and sorting process and technology that will increase safety and productivity. The company also plans to use 100% recyclable packaging materials at the new facility to reduce its carbon footprint.
