NEW YORK — Independent Pet Partners (IPP), which owns four independent pet retailers operating in the United States, recently announced a partnership with DoorDash to enhance its on-demand pet product delivery services.

Pet owners shopping at Chuck & Don’s, Loyal Companion, Kriser’s and Natural Paws stores can now receive delivery in as little as under an hour using the DoorDash app.

“Now pet parents can shop our highly curated collection of all-natural pet food and supplies, plus our exclusive brand Roosevelt, in yet another channel for ultimate convenience,” said Tricia Nichols, chief marketing officer at IPP. “It’s just another way we’re making it easy for customers to help their pets live their best lives through pet wellness – anytime, anywhere. We’re thrilled to enhance our consumer-centric omnichannel strategy with expanded same day delivery options on DoorDash.”

The partnership covers all 160 locations owned by IPP. The retailers’ natural pet food and treat brands, as well as toys, supplies and accessories are all available for DoorDash delivery.

“Consumers are craving convenience and speed when it comes to getting their favorite products delivered on-demand and we have seen this extend to pet essentials as well,” said Shanna Prevé, vice president of strategic partnerships and business development at DoorDash. “We are excited to partner with Independent Pet Partners to offer pet parents on-demand access to the pet health and wellness items they need right in the DoorDash app.”

This partnership will help IPP’s independent stores stay competitive in the increasingly omnichannel retail space. Big box pet retailers — including PetSmart and Petco — have also jumped and partnered with last-mile delivery services such as DoorDash to enhance direct-to-consumer capabilities.

Nearly one year ago in December 2020, IPP announced a partnership with Uber Direct to offer same-day delivery to pet owner customers across its four pet specialty stores.
