NEW YORK — Independent Pet Partners (IPP), an organization formed by four independent pet retailers in the United States, is rolling out same-day delivery services, new digital retail and customer loyalty perks. Same-day delivery will be facilitated through a partnership with Uber Direct.

Additionally, IPP has enhanced shipping for Chuck & Don’s customers through FedEx. Chuck & Don’s is one independent pet retail member of IPP, alongside Loyal Companion, Kriser’s Natural Pet and Natural Pawz.

“These new digital partnerships make it even easier for pet owners to purchase their pet essentials from their favorite local store, supporting their local neighborhood and communities,” said Jeff David, founder and chief executive officer of IPP. “This is all part of our continued effort to find helpful solutions to ensure premium brands and best-in-class service is available to our customers anytime, anywhere.”

Pet owners will be able to select same-day delivery service when purchasing products online through one of the four independent pet retailers. Pet food, treats, toys and other pet essentials or accessories will be picked up by an Uber Direct driver and dropped off through contactless delivery.

IPP reported all same-day deliveries in 2021 will be processed through the Uber mobile app, making the service available on any device.

Chuck & Don’s will offer nationwide shipping through FedEx, as well as curbside or in-store pick-up for online orders, and autoship services for subscription orders.

IPP is also offering advice on pet wellness, including grooming, stress relief, nutrition, indoor play and mental health, based around its “5 Pillars of Pet Wellness” approach.

IPP provides back-end infrastructure to support its independent pet retailer partners, which operate 157 locations across 12 states and Washington D.C. It is backed by TPF Growth, a private equity firm.
