DENVER — Alphia announced Sept. 22 it has hired Cindy Yakich as chief procurement officer (CPO) to help the company navigate supply chain and procurement challenges. Alphia is a leading co-manufacturer of super premium pet food products.

Yakich will be tasked with leading the procurement teams at Alphia and LANI, the company’s ingredient milling subsidiary. She will develop procurement strategies and manage supplier relationships.

Previously, Yakich served as senior director of proprietary brands sourcing and research and development for consumables and healthcare at Chewy, Inc. She has also held supply chain and procurement roles with The J.M. Smucker Company, Big Heart Pet, Del Monte and Heinz throughout her career.
