ARLINGTON, VA. — The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is once again asking students in the pet food space to submit their research for the chance to present at its 2022 Pet Food Conference. The one-day conference will be held on Jan. 25, in conjunction with the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Ga.
As in years past, selected graduate students will have the opportunity to present their work during the event as speakers, and undergraduate and other graduate students will be chosen to present their research on posters during the conference.
“We are happy to provide this opportunity to the next generation of pet food industry innovators and leaders,” said Louise Calderwood, director of regulatory affairs at AFIA. “We want to ensure students interested in the pet nutrition industry have a platform to present their research and that all students have direct access to leaders in this field to gain additional insights.”
Presentations should be geared toward an industry or trade conference audience, rather than for a scientific audience, AFIA stated. Background and development rationale, conclusions and industry implications should all be included in each presentation.
Submissions will be accepted until Nov. 8. Students who are selected will have the opportunity to network with roughly 300 pet food professionals expected to attend the conference, and will be awarded free admission to the conference.
Interested students can learn more about submissions on the AFIA website.
