LONDON — The Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association (PFMA) representing pet food manufacturers in the United Kingdom announced a new Associate Membership category for suppliers, consultants, retailers and service providers to the industry.

Interested companies can build their own membership package, choosing from a list of consultancy, resource and marketing benefits.

“We have developed the Associate Membership package with a range of options to ensure inclusivity enabling organizations both small and large to get involved,” said Michael Bellingham, chief executive at PFMA.

These include access to the PFMA Secretariat for consulting matters, the potential to be invited to a working group or committee, political representation for aligned priorities, member-only access to the PFMA website and resources, and early access to technical industry briefings and developments in the industry.

Additionally, companies can benefit from “bespoke social media marketing” through PFMA profiles, a listing in the membership section of the association’s website, opportunities for editorial collaboration, networking and event sponsorship.

PFMA currently represents 97 manufacturer and ingredient supplier members, which account for more than 90% of the total UK pet food market.

“We see this as a really positive move forward for the Association,” Bellingham said. “It will mean greater networking, engagement and collaboration for those both directly involved and associated with the pet food industry.”
