STAMFORD, CONN. — The American Pet Products Association (APPA) announced April 23 the launch of its Right Start Membership category, a new way for the association to support emerging startups in the pet industry.
“As the pet care community continues to evolve, more and more entrepreneurs are setting their sights on doing business in this industry,” said Steve King, chief executive officer. “APPA recognizes our responsibility to encourage growth through innovation and that start-ups play an integral role in ensuring the pet industry remains vibrant.”
APPA’s main goal behind Right Start Membership is to help set pet industry startups on a path toward success by providing retail, marketing and pet industry knowledge.
This new membership category offers resources and support unique to companies entering the industry, including APPA’s market research data, its public relations program, government and regulatory affairs resources and educational support.
The association does not allow startups who are Right Start members to participate in Global Pet Expo.
