MILFORD, MASS. — KPM Analytics recently added three new configurations to its Unity Scientific™ SpectraStar™ near-infrared reflectance (NIR) technology solutions. The company stated it is meeting evolving market needs for NIR analysis solutions, which are a quick and reliable way to conduct compositional analysis in the pet food, feed, food, ingredient and agricultural industries.
“Our Unity Scientific brand analyzers have been addressing NIR applications for nearly two decades,” said Brian Mitchell, chief executive officer of KPM Analytics. “Coupled with the recently-announced partnership with AB Vista and their Aunir Ingot Lab calibrations, this latest line of our SpectraStar NIR analyzers offers a significant upgrade to customers for the best return on investment for their applications.”
These new instruments — SpectraStar XT-3, XT-F and XT-R — are each fine-tuned for a specific range of products or ingredients. The XT-3 offers a basic analysis of three common compositional attributes: moisture, oil and fat, and protein. It can be used for several sample types and applications, according to the company, and integrated with several Unity Scientific calibrations for an easy to install solution.
The XT-R offers analysis of complex sample types, including processed foods, feed and ingredients. This configuration can be used with large AUNIR Ingot™ Lab solutions with libraries exceeding 350,000 samples and 4 million data points, KPM stated. Proprietary end-products can also be analyzed using custom calibration with UCal 4™ software.
The XT-F is designed as a ready-to-use analysis solution for milling and baking flour.
