MEQUON, WIS. — Fromm Family Foods on Oct. 22 announced a new dry cat diet, Four-Star Nutritional Trout and Whitefish Recipe, which will be added to the company’s vast portfolio of pet food and treats beginning in early November.
The formula is grain-inclusive, featuring barley, oats and brown rice. The main proteins are trout and whitefish. The diet is also formulated with fruits and vegetables, canola and salmon oil to deliver fatty acids and prebiotics.
The Trout and Whitefish Recipe also includes Miscanthus grass, a source of insoluble fiber being embraced in the pet food manufacturing industry, to promote gastrointestinal health and wellness. The digestive support offered by this ingredient could help cats with hairball management, Fromm said.
“From the start, the Four-Star Nutritionals product line has provided a creative platform for us to dream up new, globally-inspired recipes that embrace diversity of flavors for pets,” said Bryan Nieman, brand director at Fromm Family Foods. “With a growing market demand for variety in both ingredients and formulations, new Trout & Whitefish Recipe answers this call and allows us to expand our Four-Star feline offerings.”
This new diet, like all other Fromm pet foods, are manufactured at Fromm’s family-owned manufacturing plant in Wisconsin. The diet is appropriate for all life stages, as well as less active cats due to its low caloric and fat levels.
Fromm Family Foods is a fifth-generation family business producing both dry and canned pet food products and treat options sold exclusively through the pet specialty channel in the United States.
