READING, PENN. — Pest control solutions provider Rentokil announced Sept. 30 it will host a free, one-day webinar Wednesday, Oct. 7. The webinar will address the topic of increasing rodent issues for food and pet food manufacturing, shipping and storing.

“It is no secret that rodent populations are on the rise,” said John Myers, president and chief executive officer of Rentokil North America. “With so many businesses shut down or on reduced hours during the pandemic, rodents are reproducing at alarming rates. During this webinar, our experts will discuss the new challenges specific to the manufacturing and food processing industry and explain how to increase business efficiency through real-time insights with new technology.”

Topics of discussion include the COVID-19 pandemic’s role in exacerbating rodent populations, key facts on rodent behavior, and new technology to reduce potential rodent issues and protect employee and product safety.

The webinar, titled “The Rodent Problem – What You Need to Know Now,” will include Dr. Nancy Troyano, Chris Wible and Becky Campbell of Rentokil North America as speakers. They will address PestConnect, Rentokil’s portfolio of remote digital monitoring systems for pest control and efficiency. According to Rentokil, PestConnect can help with Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) plans and objectives to reduce rodent risks quickly.

Troyano is the director of operations, education and training at Rentokil, as well as a board-certified entomologist. She is tasked with leading the development of pest specialist training for Rentokil’s companies.

Wible serves as director of technical services for Rentokil and leads the development and implementation of its commercial and residential services, as well as the innovation agenda, according to the company. Campbell is a product manager for Rentokil’s online services, responsible for innovation and technology-related products.
