FRANKLIN, TENN. — Mars Petcare on May 21 launched a free digital application on Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp in the United States and United Kingdom to provide pet owners with information about responsible pet ownership and companion animal health.

The app, Pet Health Pal, was developed in collaboration with Waltham Petcare Science Institute to include timely resources and information to pet owners, including topics such as COVID-19 and pets, nutrition, health, exercise and overall well-being.

"Pet owners are especially concerned about keeping their pets happy and healthy right now, but it is difficult to keep up with the rapidly changing landscape," said Rena Crumplen, Ph.D., global vice president of research and development at Mars Petcare. "The Pet Health Pal is our way of helping to ease pet owners' minds with simple, credible information, so they can give their pets the best care possible."

Information about Mars’ Pedigree, Iams and Whiskas brands are currently accessible on the app. Pet owners can access the app at https://www.messenger.com/t/walthamscience.
