GREENSBORO, NC. — Brakke Consulting announced April 20 it is fielding a study to gauge changes in pet owner behavior and purchasing as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds in the United States. The study will be issued in three waves starting at the beginning of May.
“The COVID-19 pandemic creates one of the most tumultuous markets that business leaders have faced in their careers. This study is designed to provide the best decision-making information available, “ says Bob Jones, Ph.D., president of Brakke Consulting. “Providing three large-scale surveys consecutively as the market evolves will help companies and investors react more effectively to current events, as well as get a leg up on planning for 2021.”
Brakke with track pet ownership, pet owner income, purchasing behavior for “key products,” as well as veterinary visits over the course of the study, comparing results to help industry leaders monitor economic impact over time.
Three surveys, each targeting random national samples of 1,000 pet owners, will be administered and Brakke will release findings from each survey as they are completed.
