The $20 million facility will serve as a hub for new discoveries and advancements in animal management, nutrition and production.

The Feed Technology Center on the University of Illinois campus in Urbana-Champaign will open new opportunities for students, faculty and the industry overall.
Donors

The facility would not have been possible without the unique public-private partnership, in which private industry members came through with significant amounts of monetary and equipment donations. Some equipment was donated outright and some was sold at a significantly discounted price.
Bühler's contributions

Bühler provided $1 million worth of equipment to the center, including a MultiImpactMAX hammer mill.
GSI dryer
University of Illinois
The Feed Technology Center also features a GSI dryer.
Feed mill
University of Illinois
The feed mill is made of slipform concrete and can produce 8,000 tons of feed per year.
JEM International bagging system
University of Illinois
Feed is bagged with a bagging system donated by JEM International.
Wenger processing
University of Illinois
The center also includes a Wenger extruder and auxiliary processing equipment.

University of Illinois
While the center is part of the university's College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES), officials believe it will provide multiple opportunities to engage other departments within the university.
