The association will use grant funds to continue to promote the safety and quality of US pet food in 18 different countries.  

The act aims to increase funding for the Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development Program (FMD).

The SMART Act aims to increase funding, therefore expanding trade for US agricultural and pet food industries.

The administration will sponsor four new trade missions throughout the globe.

Agricultural exports in 2021 increased by 18% from 2020 and have surpassed the previous record set in 2014.
